Day and Night

To those of you who had to deal with me from Wednesday night, I apologize. I was honestly a basket case. I had to call back the girl who had just been there and tell her that I didn't think she was going to be right for our family. I thought I had found someone and was beginning to relax. I was back to square one and only had a week left before Noe was scheduled to leave.

Do you ever just have those days where you feel like you are drowning and you just can't seem to get up to get air? That's how I felt those few days. I was in the midst of doing a fundraiser at my school, getting ready for our Student Council Valentine's Day sale, and a few other miscenllaneous projects. You can also add in getting blown off by a parent for their conference for the second time in a week and a half. That's always thrilling!

By Friday morning, I was just sick of the week. Our entire school was off of it's rocker. Teachers had the same look on their face as I did. The only part of the day that was wonderful was when we finished it off with a movie. We were learning about Martin Luther King, Jr. and I showed them the greatest movie, "Our Friend, Martin." It is fantastic and I recommend you find a copy and watch it! It was the only time, that entire day, where the kids were QUIET! The movie just sucks them in and they love it!

After school I talked to a gentleman at the LDS Employment Center. Thankfully, he is wonderful and was trying to track me down. He helped me place an ad on their website. I was hoping that something would turn up before Noe left.

On Friday night, Noe came home early. He has been at meetings all week for his new job. He has been meeting a lot of new people, visiting the other shows in Vegas, etc. If anyone would have called me and asked me how I was doing, they wouldn't have liked the answer. Then the phone rang! If it was Hillary Clinton calling again, I was going to give her a piece of my mind. I am SO SICK of getting campaign calls. The caucus was today, so thanfully they will die down. (Side note...when they called today and asked if they could count on my vote I said NO THANK YOU and goodbye!) Luckily, it wasn't Hillary. The girl introduce herself as Nicole, a volunteer from the LDS Employment Center. I was pretty impressed that they even followed up with you after placing an ad.

I guess I misunderstood her at first. She wasn't calling to check up on me. Nicole was calling because Shawn had told her about me and my need for a nanny! I talked her ear off for quite some time, long enough that I am amazed she didn't hang up and tell her husband there was no way she could work for me! She sounded absolutely WONDERFUL! I don't want to go into all of the details about her, but in short she is going to be 21, married, doesn't drink or smoke, has never been arrested, has a spotless record (for a Canadian to get a Visa you have to be squeaky clean), and she didn't seem to be phased by anything I threw at her. She volunteers a lot while her husband is working.

Today, Nicole and her husband came over for a visit. Matthew headed right over to her and had her hold all of his toys so he could play on her lap. Did I ever say my kids were shy? Noah was the next one to warm up. He went right over and started drawing with Nicole's husband. Robert was the one that I would consider a flirt. He didn't get close, but kept ducking his head down and giving her little smiles. Unfortunately, they were all sick. They came down with the same sort of thing Leigha had earlier this week. That might have been good, they were really calm and didn't scare her off.

Nicole is starting to work for us on Monday! Hoe do you spell relief? N-I-C-O-L-E! I feel like a ton of bricks have been lifted off of my shoulders. Noe leaves in a little over four days, but now I have someone I feel comfortable with to watch the boys while I am at work. Things do work out for a reason!
