I Love My Family!

I just have to say that I love my family. This year is definitely a trying year for us all. Noe has been gone for 3.5 months and I won't lie and say it's easy for any of us. Noe is missing out on a lot of changes in the kids, and the kids are missing their Daddy. I can't help but smile when the boys find something that belongs to their Dad, especially one of his MANY books. Every time we walk out to van they point to Noe's car and say, "Daddy's car." Leigha and Noe have a wonderful relationship, it was the hardest on her at first. I will admit that it gets easier with the passing time. It's not that we miss him any less, but we have found our routine. Noe calls home every other day and sometimes even daily. We get to see each other on web cam when our schedules allow.

Yesterday morning I received a wonderful surprise. The doorbell rang and there stood a man delivering a beautiful flower arrangement from my children. I can't begin to describe how hectic life is for Noe in Japan. He has been working up to 16 hour days and rarely ever has a day to himself. Noe normally brings me a single red rose (and one for Leigha) for these types of holidays because he knows my feelings about wasting money on something that will either die or be eaten by our cats (it's a toss up which will happen first). This time it was different, this time it meant the world to me. Noe told me that Leigha had a large part in that special delivery. They were absolutely gorgeous!

I was also enjoying a special gift from one of my students. It was Teacher Appreciation Week this past week. Typically I will get a card or two, maybe a candy bar, etc. This one student knows me all too well. Let's just say she earned some extra credit!

The kids are doing great, when they aren't getting into trouble (which seems to be happening more and more recently). The boys decided to join Leigha as she worked on her homework the other day. The peace and quiet (OK, not really quiet) was wonderful while it lasted.

During one of our recent phone calls, Noe expressed one of his biggest fears with me. He is afraid that I have totally packed the garage full of junk since he left. This has always been a sore spot between the two of us. He thinks the garage should be for his stuff only. He has an office and so do I. Now ask how much of the kids' stuff is in his office and how much of it is in mine? Don't I deserve half of the garage? According to him- NO! He has hated having all of the baby stuff out there, and you know with triplets there hasn't been a lack of baby stuff in our house. When we moved to this bigger house, I promised him things would be different. However, I didn't know that I was pregnant with THREE. Noe is always complaining about the amount of crap in that garage and how he is the one that has to clean it. For the record, it was NOT clean when he left for Japan. So Noe, thank you very much for the beautiful flowers and making my Mother's Day very special. We love you and miss you very much!

Promises made before triplets are different from promises made after. This is a fact :)

I can't imagine how hard it is to be without Noe, but you are stronger than most!
