Whirlwind Visit

Right after my Dream 5k race, Leigha and I were supposed to meet up with my friend Jana (from BabySteals)and her children at Circus Circus. This is a dream come true for Leigha. I figured that I already had my nanny at the house, so I might as well use her. Leigha deserves some fun that isn't complicated by her little brothers.

Unfortunately, I was delayed by a huge group breakfast with everyone from the race. We ended up staying for the awards and that took forever. Once I got home, about an hour later than I would have liked, my keys were gone. Thankfully I found an extra key eventually. I showered and ran out the door with Leigha.

Jana has fabulous children. Easton is 14 years old and I hope my boys are as nice as him. Without complaint, he took care of his little sister and just hung out while the other kids went on all of the rides. He was as polite as could be. Brandon is 8 and he was the one that Leigha got to go on all of the rides with. Well, most of the rides. Leigha was so excited to go on one particular ride, but Brandon didn't want to. Jana finally talked him into going on it so Leigha could go, but once they got up to the front of the line they came right back to us. We told them to go get on the ride and we got this response:

I was absolutely shocked that my daughter, who is afraid of the playground equipment, LOVED the rollercoaster! That was the first ride that Brandon and Leigha went on. I was fearing the blood curdling screams that might deafen poor Brandon. Does this look like the face of someone terrified by a ride?

The kids immediately ran around and got right back in line to do it again. I was stunned. This is a roller coaster that has loops and twists. She is my kind of kid! They went on a few other rides and appeared to have a lot of fun together. Is it really out of the question for arranged marriages in this day and age? I would love to have him as a son-in-law in another 20 years. I know Leigha would love her in-laws!

I really hated that I had less than two hours to spend with them, but I was happy for what ever I could get. Jana, Easton, Jane, and I just followed the two kids around as they played.

Jane is an absolute doll. She happened to turn around on the previous shot, so I feel compelled to post a picture from the BabySteals website. She is a feisty 2 year old who would be a perfect match for any one of my boys. Then again, the damage that they could do together is a horrifying thought. Jana has some great stories about Jane.

I love my friends, just wish they didn't live so far away!
