Leigha chose to have her birthday party at Sunset Station's bowling alley. Ever since we visited the bowling alley to take some pictures on Halloween, Leigha has wanted to go bowling. We tried to go one day, but the wait was over 2 hours. She was finally going to get her chance. I just hoped that she wouldn't hate it; not a great time to find out!
Leigha was able to invite 9 of her friends to join us. Leigha and Hailey got a head start on the other girls. The three of us got our shoes and found the balls we would need. Leigha had a tough time remembering how to hold the ball, so I reminded her to think of the phrase "I love you" in sign language. I think that did it!
I have never been so happy to see bumpers pop up on a bowling alley! I think most of the girls used and abused the bumpers, some even hopping over them to the next lane. One of Leigha's balls had to be retrieved because it stopped half way down the lane. She got the hang of it though!
After an hour and a half of bowling, the girls were ready to eat. We had pizza and pop and then soon after we had the birthday cake. Leigha has never been a huge fan of cake, so we got one traditional birthday cake and one cookie cake. The cookie cake was a hit!
Leigha received some fun presents. Lots of Hannah Montana and High School Musical items, as well as a bunch of different pets for her to use on the Internet (just what she needed). A good time was had by all!
