On March 27, 2005, Robert, Matthew, and Noah decided to make their grand entrance at 27 weeks and 1 day gestation. Robert was born at 5:51 a.m. weighing in at 2 lbs 2 oz. Matthew was born at 6:02 a.m. (breech) weighing in at 1 lb 14 oz. Noah, who was supposed to be second, was born at 6:09 p.m. (breech) weighing in at 2 lbs 9 oz. We officially got on the roller coaster of the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) that I was learning would be the ride of my life. There were many ups and downs for the next few months. It's hard to walk into a room and see people standing over your baby pumping oxygen into them because they were blue. It took awhile to understand that for every step forward you take two steps back. Matthew and Noah are the identical twins (although some don't think so). They sure did act like it in the NICU. I would walk in to find them following in each other's footsteps, but unforunately, not the way I would have liked. There were many days where the doctors said they were tempted to seperate them to the different corners of the NICU. On June 28th, we were finally able to bring our boys home. They thought we were crazy taking all three at once, but I figured that unless they plan on keeping them until they get off the oxygen, they might as well let us get used to it! We have been through the ups and downs at home as well. I will eventually include a link to a more detailed history of the boys.

Overall, the boys are doing great now! Noah is our Buddah baby, weighing in at 23 lbs 8 oz. Matthew has just overtaken Robert and weighs 20 lbs 6 oz. Robert is now the smallest, weighing in at 19 lbs 14 oz. Robert has overcome his reflux and is doing great. He is pulling up on everything AND getting into EVERYTHING! Noah isn't too far behind him. He is crawling around and pulling up to his knees. I think he was getting jealous of Robert. Noah has been doing the army crawl for awhile, but today he is really starting to do the full fledged crawl! Matthew sat up for about 20-30 seconds by himself. He rolls over both directions, but mostly just to grab any toy he wants (including Smokey!) They are all talkers, just like their sister!
Leigha is getting so big! She is 5 years old now, and ready to start kindergarten at my school this fall. She has been working hard on writing her capital letters, as well as the lower case letters. Leigha LOVES her Leapster LMax, and I love that she is enjoying learning on it! She is a wonderful big sister to her little brothers. She loves to be the leader of the band or just make them laugh in general. She has really gone beyond what I could have ever imagined or hoped how she would be with her brothers. Once in awhile she lets me know that all I ever do is feed the babies or do stuff around the house. I agree!
