They have been sick before, but unless I am forgetting details, I don't think it's ever gone on this long. Noah has been sick (coughing) since July. That's normal for him (how sad is that?) That I can deal with. I was granted permission(thanks?) to take him to our old ENT's partner. I will be taking him in on Friday. Hopefully we will get all of his issues solved soon. I am not sure that it will cure his attachment to croup though. I guess it's paybacks, my mom said I was a croup baby.
Then Robert got sick. He doesn't act sick all the time. He just comes up to your face and has exploding coughs. You know the kind, where you have to dry off your face, hands, and 1 mile radius around him? His nose has been running long enough to have finished a marathon by now. Matthew was the only one of the trio doing great! Until last week, that is. He got the cough. However, since Matthew has mastered the art of gag/puking, he has also started throwing up almost daily. I was pretty sure it was not the reflux alone, but that he is throwing up because he's gagging on the mucous in his throat.
Sunday night was rough all over. I don't go to sleep until late. Noe doesn't even get home until 1:30 a.m. At 2:30 a.m. he was downstairs and I was in bed. We both heard Noah start a coughing tantrum that just wasn't allowing himself to breath much in between. He ran up the stairs to grab him. I was saved. He took him downstairs for a breathing treatment. Do you think I could fall asleep? Heck no! He brought him back up and put him to bed around 3:30 a.m. Then we heard the coughing again. Noe didn't know what to do for him. I informed him that it was now Matthew, because I could hear the choking cough. My turn. I took him downstairs for a breathing treatment. Unfortunately, he was wide awake. He threw up once, but basically just mucous. We watched The Pacifier. Then at 5:30 I took him back upstairs. I slept 2 hours. My alarm was due to go off at 6 a.m. so it was worthless to go back to sleep.
Monday night I had to get up with Noah for a breathing treatment. Last night I had to get up with Noah for a breathing treatment. I am also a fool that went to bed with a twinge of a migraine. I didn't take anything for it. Noe woke me up when he came to bed and it started flaring it's ugly head. Did I go downstairs and take meds? No, I just sat there trying to put pressure and rub every part of my head. Then at 4:30 a.m., there goes Noah! Took him down for a breathing treatment and brought him back up at 5 a.m. Reset the alarm since 5 a.m. was when I was supposed to get up.
Tonight I am driving Matthew to Shriner's Hospital in LA. I am not packed, I have nothing ready, I have laundry to do, I have his medical records in a pile and that's it. Oh, not a big deal, but I have to leave in an hour for work. Maybe I shouldn't be sitting here? Well, it's therapy.
Matthew is being seen at the Arthrogyposis Clinic at Shriner's tomorrow morning. He will be seen by a team of specialists. I hope we can get some difinitve answers and a good plan. If they tell me it's a waiting game, I might scream. I have heard enough of that.

Good luck to you! Hope they have some aggressive ideas to get everything in order. I agree, no more waiting! Drive safe and call if you need anything!
I hope everything goes well at Shriner's. We take Aspen Jan 11th. Let me know how it goes!
