Seriously, do I get paid enough for this teaching job?

No!

First it was the uncontained, HUGE, crayfish that came crawling at me with their pincers raised. Now this....

Yes! That's a large black beetle. 12 of these lovely critters joined my classroom last Thursday. After I finish working with my crayfish, I get to compare and contrast them to the beetles! We were supposed to get snails, but I guess we were lucky?!

On a positive note, Snappy and Jr. are doing quite well. I had to make myself pick them up so that I could teach the kids how to do it properly. Yesterday I started putting them on the ground to let the kids observe them moving around free. Wonder how long it will take me to warm up to the beetles?

Ewww gross! You are a brave woman. I probably would have quit right there on the spot when those bugs arrived. Ick!

YUK....!!!!. I'm always telling my husband - if it has more than 2 legs and it's not a dog it better not be in this house. I HATE bugs and crawly things.. I'm with Joselle, I would have quit then and there. I'll stick with my computers - they don't crawl.

Well...if you ever need any reptiles, let me know....Andy breeds bearded dragons, and I have yet to warm up to them....

Now we have a 3 1/2 ft Savannah monitor, and 3 corn snakes...well actually 2 since one is loose in my house somewhere.

I will totally come live with your beetles if you can find a way to guarantee that I am not going to wake up one night with a 3 foot corn snake wrapped around me.
