The Saga Continues

Monday completely escapes me. I don't remember anything significant happening. Tuesday morning Leigha and I had a nice brisk walk to school. We dropped off my van for an oil change at the dealership. It's not too far from my school, and I figured we could use the fresh air and exercise. After sign language club we walked back to get the car. Things were going great!

I decided to make Taco Pie for dinner. I immediately started cooking the ground beef, preparing the crust, etc. My friend called me right at the tail end of the preparation. I preheated the oven to 375 degrees. We continued chatting for a few more minutes and it finally struck me that there was no way that the oven was still preheating, yet it said PRE right on the display. I opened up the oven--nothing! There was no pilot light to be seen, no heat, no NOTHING! So here I sit, dinner time, and my food has no way to cook.

I ran next door to ask a neighbor how to relight the pilot light, in case it had just blown out. He had no clue after looking at mine. He was stumped, but it was different than his. I went to my other neighbors, who have the same exact oven. She tried to help me but couldn't figure out what was wrong. We concluded the same thing--another thing is my house is broken. GO FIGURE!? Tara was nice enough to turn her oven on and cook our meal for us.

Wednesday didn't let me down. The day was almost over, for the kids anyway. I had all three boys in the bath and I was just about to take Matthew out. All three were in a nice little row, on their knees, holding on to the side of the tub. All of a sudden, Noah's hand slips and he hits his face against the tub. Sorry Matthew, you aren't the first one to get out anymore. I saw his cheek bleed a little and start to swell fast. I grabbed him, got him dressed, and grabbed one of the little ice packs the Easter Bunny left. He wasn't thrilled with the pack at first, but eventually he thought licking it was pretty fun.

It swelled pretty bad at first. It looked like he had a gumdrop on his cheek. The next morning it was looking pretty!

So now here is my 100% BOY~ complete with his chipped front left tooth, grey front right tooth (courtesy of his sister), and now his lovely shiner! He's so proud of his eye, he loves when I ask to take a picture of his shiner.

I can't wait to see what today brings!

Great, now I'm gonna be worried about the girls smacking their heads on the bathtub!

Hopefully you're having a little better luck! If it's any consolation, he does look pretty cute with a black eye :)

Poor little guy. Good luck with your car/oven problems. I hate dealing with things like that. When it rains, it pours. the kids look great!
